How to retrieve windows XP password :

One way to retrieve the windows XP password is if you have 2 accounts and have forgotten password of any one account the you can simply open the account which password is known and type on RUN....

RUN --> CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 --> press enter

one window will be open. All the acounts in your computer will be shown there, the password which you have to reset, just click on that account and click on reset password and type new password.
This will not ask you the old password.

NOTE : you may also do this with the limited access acount and can change administrator password.

There is one more way but i have not tried it, you can try it....

Windows:

If you locked yourself out from services on your computer then there is a small Program you
could use. There is a file called *.PWL in C:/windows that contains all you passwords.
Download Showpass.zip from this source http://www.groovyweb.uklinux.net/?page_name=files
to show all passwords stored on your computer. You can change the file extension to .txt to manually change passwords.

Unix:

You can find all stored passwords on etc/passwd. The passwords can be viewed using the CAT
command. Simply write: cat etc/passwd and you should get a list. Also make sure all your
password are shadowed to secure them.

ENJOY...
:)
